I know nothing
Ok, so I spray pretty regularly for bugs, but I am still being overrun with spiders. I am new to the area, and not particularly afraid of spiders, but one big one crawled up on my while I was sleeping. I flung it away, and then managed to take a picture of it as it crawled up onto my ironing board.

Sorry for the low quality. The spider's overall length was close to two inches, and it was not furry (That I could tell). The legs appears to have stripes on them (tan / black).

Please let me know if you can ID this spider (I couldn't find it online) as I want to know what creepy crawlies are attacking me in the dark.

Run to lowes and buy 15 gallons of spectracide... Kill the m effer

Hit it with a hammer in the mean time. it may be groggy when you get home, but the weapon of mass destruction should finish it off...

Does it make a noise? Wolf spiders make a noise. Had one under the house, came out of it's hole and made some growling noise. It was wierd. Pumped malathieon down it's hole and never saw him again. If you have a crawl space under your house, throw a couple of bug bombs under every summer.

You mean the barking spider.... highly toxic, you can usually smell where they've been

Actually they're more likely to keep the creepy crawlies from attacking you, they could care less that you're there. I have either shown a spider out the door or if it was up high where I couldn't reach I just leave it be. Spiders never bothered me.

Hey, do you like to eat crabs, shrimp, or lobster?
Guess who they're closely related to

I read somewhere that the average American is never more than 10 feet away from a spider at any given time. Hope this helps.

Maybe not, but you have these. Banana spider or Golden Orb Weaver.

The draft rule of thumb.

Air leaks are the largest source of heating and cooling loss in a home. A home maintenance rule of thumb says where you find spider webs you are likely to find a draft.

(Could not resist. This is the August 7 entry on a calendar I have)

holy crap, where did they live? are those spiders around here? ugh.

that was back in Florida. dunno bout here. They were next to the woods, so that probably helped the spiders migrate over. They never bother killing them though, so them things have become HUGE and procreated plenty over the years!

We have those things at my house too. We've always called them zipper spiders because it looks like they have a zipper in the middle of their web when they are done. They also die quickly around here too!!! I hate 'em!!!!!!!!!!!! Death to all spiders!!!!!!

(I know, I know - we'd be overrun by bugs.... I just hate spiders!)
