It's been a week since we put the first treatment on Lou and Holly. They come 3 to a pack at Loveville for $11 and you treat every 2 weeks.

We're already seeing a real difference! You're still gonna need spray, especially on a trail ride, but in general I'm giving the product 2 thumbs up!

I pulled 5 ticks off my guys' tailbone the other day, any suggestions on what I can put on him to keep the ticks off his tail? I've never seen ticks on a tail before and the funny thing about it is he didn't have a tick anywhere else, just on his tail bone.

It probably is a random kind of thing. I've found ticks on horses at times and none at others. Tails are a common place plus under the chin and chest. I do like the spot on products for effectiveness but they can make a mess out of a light colored or painted horse with the oils they contain.

That's funny, I noticed it more on Lou (bay) than the App? The packaging says it works on ticks too. I've pulled two off of him before I used it...we'll see.

I recently got this thing called The Horse Pal. I had heard from a friend of mine who lives down south that it was awesome. It's expensive (depending on where you get it) but so worth the money!! It's specifically for deer and horse flies and I was shocked at how well it works. I was losing my mind with the amount of biting flies since I had moved down here (so were my horses). My mare is actually allergic to deer flies (we found that out when we did a SPOT allergen test on her). She was getting these disgusting oozing swollen welts from all the deer fly bites and they kept getting infected. I kept spraying her with fly sprays but nothing seemed to help keep her from getting the bites. Anyways, this Horse Pal thing is supposed to attract them without any chemicals and it certainly does. In the first weekend I had to empty the whole top (which is almost a gallon). Now my horses seem to hang out around it all the time.

And i'll bet it draws flies form all over the county
I use the spot on stuff on my DOGs to keep files off them. Perhaps i'll try it on the animals it's intended for. Is the stuff at Loveville the same as what's at Southern States?

I'll have to find that info. again. I know there were some places online that were too pricey for me so I had ordered mine with my friend's order. I really do love it though! I only have one of them on the one side of my property and that side is literally deer and horse fly free. The other side is still pretty bad since the flies are supposed to be attracted to this thing by sight. I actually want to order another one for the other pasture since my property is sort of divided by trees and my barn. It's been so great since I can't spray too many things on my horses because the one is super sensitive and tends to not do well with the chemical sprays (she gets hives with some of them). This thing has really been fantastic though since I used to hate turn out times, let alone riding since I was getting bitten like crazy too! I never would have guessed it would trap so many flies without any chemical attractants. Anyways enough of me blabbing, let me contact my friend and find out the info. for you.
