Sprite's New Ad - Has NO Soda ..... Panders to LGBTQ

In a new, bizarre advertisement for their lemon-lime soda, the company clipped together scenes of various members of the LGBTQ community getting ready to attend a “Pride” event. In one scene, a girl helps her friend put on a binder, or an article of clothing commonly used by LGBTQ members to flatten their chests to present as male. In another, an older woman is seen helping a drag queen lace-up his corset. Yet another depicts two young children painting a heart onto a rainbow flag, the symbol of LGBTQ pride.

Describing the ad, however, simply doesn’t do it justice. These scenes play back-to-back with seemingly no context. In fact, the Sprite logo doesn’t even appear until the very last scene, leaving viewers wondering exactly what they’re seeing and why. More importantly, how does this tie in with carbonated beverages?

While the ad itself feels like a trip through a progressive television show meant for young adults questioning their sexuality, ultimately it is a money grab. It screams, “Hello, gays! Pay us because we give you airtime!”

Woketards aren't supposed to be drinking soda anyway. Sugar, preservatives, blah blah blah. The plastic bottles harm the planet and contribute to climate change. So why would Sprite be pandering to them?

What a pukefest that was.
I always thought advertising was to sell more of your product.
I don't see this ad selling more Sprite.

Well, the whole agenda is well placed in Madison Ave.

I guess I should be married to a Chinese or black woman, my adopted Peruvian son should be gay, I should drive a Prius to my Green Peace protest, eat the new Popeyes chicken sammich and stab people.

maybe not

I haven't tried that chicken sammich yet.
Maybe I will put on my Kevlar vest and go get me one.

So Progressives will buy Sprite of Course - It's Manipulation

it will to the 3% of the population that's queer
Perhaps but will be a turn off to more than 3% of the straights. I have no dog in this fight, if I'm going to drink sodas it's going to be along the root beer or cola lines. Sprite absolutely blows anyway.

Up. Identified. Lase. Fire. On the way.
For Coke's sake one hopes it did its market research. Otherwise, Gillette beckons.

A few years ago a Super Bowl ad had a woman & her daughter walking up to a border wall. Then they opened a section and walked in. It was an immigration ad and at the very end it showed it was from 84 Lumber. Don;t think it helped their sales.

Cool, maybe Argentinians will think that's a real snapshot of average Americans and they won't be so motivated to come here. :yay:

What does A have to do with B ?
It’s again just more cherry picking of facts. It’s a big world out there with lots of media markets, all different...but reading the comments in this thread everyone seems to be looking at it from the American perspective, which makes sense considering this is a southern MD forum.

Why did you say it was an ad for Sprite? What did that matter if it doesn’t matter that the ad is from Argentina?

Damn: Coke must think Argentina is the capitol; of Homosexuality.
Must be all of those Nazi's that hid down there turned queer.

What Cherry Picking ...... did or did not Coke Inc produce a soda ad that advertises NO Soda and panders to a Political Class
Is it also a fact that the ad was shown only in Argentina?

I wish I had as much time on my hands as you do. To search the world for ads to reinforce the narrative that “progressives” are removing the concept of gender...you found an ad from Argentina, and then didn’t even mention that fact.

Let me know when Banana Republic stops selling Men/Women clothing and replaces it with “Them”.
