Really? That's what you got from what she wrote? Well, I give you credit. You got the ahole part right.

What I do is none of your business. But I don't wear a gun if your asking.

If you don't have the courage to admit what you do for a living, then perhaps you should mind your own business about what other people do.

Has nothing to do with courage and looks who's talking about minding your own business. You feel good cutting people down on an internet forum? You must be a great cop. I hope you're not anyone I know and I know several.

Other than pointing out that she is not honest, show me where I "cut" her down? The guard never held her at gunpoint.

I hope I don't know you either. People I know are proud of what they do.

I got there at 8:20, sent to a window at 9:05, and was on the way home by 9:50. The lady who did the interview was pleasant, polite, and really helpful.

I do agree that the guard was a little cranky though.

I probably passed you on the way out. In fact, you may have been the nice lady who gave me her parking space out front! ?

The lady who did my interview was MOST helpful and polite. I was happy to have her do the interview, and she helped me out a lot with information.

I'm trying to figure out what the issue is;

(a) A man who worked there had a gun.

(b) You weren't allowed to sit down.

(c) You had to wait an hour.

From your description, it doesn't sound like you were at gun point at any time.

Anytime a guard is packing a gun - there is an understanding that you are being forced to comply via gunpoint.

I waited an hour in line even with an appointment. I was not only NOT allowed to sit down, I was not even given a reason. I am a US Citizen and my tax dollars help to pay that guard and every employee in that building, not to mention the cost of the building. Nevermind that - I should have been afforded the courtesy of an explanation as to WHY he was ordering me to stand in line simply because I had the letter SSA sent me as proof that I had an appointment. There was no plausible reason for my having to stand that long, except that he obviously gets off on his "guard with a gun" status.

If you fail to see the problem with that, I can't help the fact that you're an idiot.

It's not obvious or honest on her part. Her b*tch is about the ahole not allowing her to sit down or not get in line until she is called for her appointment. She has to be a little over dramatic about the ahole wearing a gun which has nothing to do with anything else.

What do you do for a living?

It's obvious to everyone else who read my story.

It's obvious you're a-hole with gun, too, if you're really even a cop. :yay:

I don't have any issue with you being upset because you had to wait and the guy being a dick about it. You being a drama queen about a guy wearing a gun and characterizing it as being told to do something at gunpoint is a bit over the top.

If you are so scared of a security guard carrying a gun, and feel that anytime someone with a gun tells you to do something you are being told to do it at gunpoint, then you should never leave your house.

I'm sure every time a cop has asked you for your drivers license, you went around and complained how the cop held you there at gunpoint. :cds:

Wouldn't know I was so freakin' happy to get out there that I couldn't see straight. I had no idea it was routine - the letter I received was addressed to me, they didn't mention my son's name at all. They asked me to bring in three years of military retirement pay stubs, three years of pay stubs, three years of bank statements, life insurance, burial plots, child support statements and everything was supposed to be original copies. I had a week to get everything together and I didn't have most of it. I was a nervous wreck. When I got to window I tried to show them what I had and they said why would we want to see that? Well the letter was addressed to me so I assumed they were doing an audit on household finances. All they wanted was my son's stuff and there was very little of that. Wish I had known - I've been sick to my stomach over this and it was much ado about nothing (for once).
:yay:
Not only that - but you have to take leave time from work - and then be held at bay by an armed guard. :jet:

Do you know what`s required?

Answer: A solution to your inability to comprehend, in simple terms for you exclusively = If you cannot be smarter, someone can educate you on the meaning of it; sometimes it requires more than a mere, "Hey Leave the Lady Alone".

Reply to this user. What part do you NOT understand?

Justa reminder in case sum1 had 2 splain it 2 ya.

Please (notice Please was typed).

Leave Bann alone, she only typed/posted her thoughts.

Now you that just love to pester someone no matter what they opine, back off. Voice your opinion, but no need to go overboard with a full blown (as commonly referred to as) unnecessary bashing.

For y`all that cannot understand that, plz say so, I`ll be more than (not so) happy to explain it 2 ya in a very short concise manner!!!

It will leave no room for any misunderstanding, get it?

move on & mess with sum1 else, k.

I may have bumped my head and scrambled something because I can read Lancese now. It's kind of like Harry Potter being able to understand parseltongue.

Wow - I went to Charlotte Hall last year because I forgot to fill out my daughter's paperwork online. After you miss the suspense, they turn off your ability to do it online (I don't get that). I walked in without an appointment and was out of there in probably 20 minutes - most of that time was spent talking to the clerk. There was a guard there, but I don't recall if he had a gun or not and now that you mention it, there were chairs, but I only stood in line rather than sitting down.

Camp Springs years ago is another story. They had chairs, but you'd NEVER want to sit on them - I think the guy with the gun would have to MAKE you sit on them //SHUDDER// at gunpoint. And the clerk in Camp Springs was a witch.
So lo and behold, I forgot to fill out the paperwork online again this year and I got a letter in the mail to call Charlotte Hall. The woman apologized and said it was probably their fault, not mine and mailed me the paperwork again with a postage paid envelope.

Hopefully, you can just do it online from now on and avoid the hassle.

Nope. This was a redetermination of his eligibility. The yearly reporting I already do online.

I have been there more than a few times AND also I have been to the location they had at Calvert Pines Senior Center a number of years ago. That place was a zoo -but never saw an armed guard. (1st time they were rude - 2nd time nice)

The guy was roood. And he had a gun. So yeah - that's what my original rant was about. I have not personally seen that go on in that office or the other one before.

Oh, the crap you have to put up with to get free government money.

My son is a disabled adult. He is the one getting the money. He doesn't get the "whole amount" that is possible. He only qualifies for a part of it, because I support him, his dad pays part of his support AND he is working and makes some money on his own (with SS & medicaid & taxes taken out) thankyouverymuch..

Somehow or another, I've done something that keeps us from having to do the redetermination. I know maybe 5 or 6 years ago I used to get some yearly letter from them asking to verify if she had started working and I wrote a note one year saying she's severely handicapped; doesn't work, can't work, never will be able to work and I haven't seen one since. No doctor verification or anything. Of course, now that I've said this, I'm probably going to get some sort of notice saying I've got to go through the whole ordeal now.
I wonder what happened to make such a drastic change in the atmosphere at Charlotte Hall. It was a downright pleasant experience when I went (maybe because I'd expected another experience like Camp Springs)

You were way too nice to the poster who remarked about what we are put through to get free government money. I'd have ripped them a new one.
