I just want to know why people think we would change any "Holiday" to better fit our schedules???? Halloween is October 31st; it doesn't matter what day it falls on.
I know that when I was growing up, trick or treat night was occasionally moved a day or two to allow it to happen on a non-school night. You know, concerned parents not wanting their kids tired in school the next day.
Fortunately, since then we've removed the requirement that people actually parent their kids, or that the kids be required to do any damn thing in school. So Halloween is much more convenient now.
Seriously, I've never seen people get so angry over the thought that their rugrats might get candy on the 30th instead of the 31st. What the hell?![]()

My kids would like it to be Halloween every friday and saturday. Christmas is to be every tuesday. They informed me this morning...lol!
Because Halloween is on October 31, not the day before or the day after! Good god, what will happen when Halloween falls on a Wednesday, think we should change it to the weekend before the weekend after?
Thank god Christmas falls on a Saturday this year, lord knows people might want to change that too!

I reckon I'm older than I thought. We did it whatever night was the 31st, without the town or county interfering. Of course, quite a few things were different back then... we had real, American-made toys to play with and we could walk around the neighborhood without worrying about being molested.I know that when I was growing up, trick or treat night was occasionally moved a day or two to allow it to happen on a non-school night.
