The St. Mary's County Youth NFL Flag Football League will hold In Person registration this Saturday Jan. 2nd 2010, at Chancellors Run Park from 9am-2pm.

St. Mary's County Youth NFL Flag Football is the premier youth football league for boys and girls ages 5-17. The program provides young players a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action while learning lessons in teamwork. This league is an affiliate of the NFL and The Pax River Raiders Tackle football & Cheerleading league.

We will also be holding registration for our King of the Couch Video game tournament on Jan. 16th @ Chancellors Run Park. Please visit our fundraising website for more details Pax River Raiders Video Game Tournaments

New for the 2010 Spring Season we will be holding our first ever Pro Bowl Game. Players that will participate in this event will be voted upon by the Parents of each team.

St. Mary's County Youth NFL Flag Football Fall registration dates will be announced soon. We will be sending teams this fall to compete in the Regional NFL Flag Football tournaments, the winner of these Regional tournaments will compete in the National tournament held in Florida. We will also be opening our program this Fall for 4 year olds. All games for the Fall season will be played on Saturdays at Dorsey Park.

We are the largest Youth Flag Football Program in St. Mary's County.

This Spring will mark our 5th Successful season. Come out and see for yourself what all the hype is about!!!

I was not trying to stir stuff up. If you've read my other posts in this section you'll see that I LOVE this league which is exactly why I registered my son last night despite the price hike.

Because that's the Pax River Raiders owner's bread and butter, flag football!!!...Come on $75, for what??? You do not need any type of real referee (major expense) and no real uniforms (printed up t-shirt).

That cost more than soccer and baseball (legit sports with real expenses)

Actually they had referees and they had really cool reversible jerseys. They look like authentic NFL jerseys. My son still wears his. I'm not at all saying that it's a rip off. I just asked why they went up $30 this season. I got an informative PM explaining the insurance and trophies. And $75 for the experience that my son had with the league is so worth it! I met all of the coaches and they were great.

From the NFL website:

The minimum cost to play FLAG Football is $20 per player to cover the cost of uniforms and equipment.

Your organization must decide how much each participant will contribute to cover additional costs, such as coach/referee fees, field maintenance and promotional materials. In past seasons, fees for leagues around the country have ranged from $20 on up.

the nfl say the 20 is for jersey flag and footballs the remaining 35 of regisitration is for official trophy insurance it is my eperience the insurance is 5 per kid and tropy is 10 at most unles you make yorself thet leaves 20 per kid for officails its all there.
