SO was just getting discharged from SMH and all heck broke loose...were told the hospital was on lockdown...any one have any ideas what is going on? I have the scanner feed running but not hearing anything. TIA.

Edit...just heard a dispatch saying someone went into the hospital with a gunshot wound saying they were being chased...no further information from hospital...

Victim said shooting occurred in West Westbury...

Slowing additional units down...redirecting towards West Westbury (the new side)...

Wifey and kid just allowed to leave...guess the excitement is over...

It's common practice for Hospitals to lock-down when a shooting Victim comes in. That's because they don't want the Shooter to come in to finish the job.

Wasn't a big deal she said...stay away from the windows, stay calm, etc. My 3 year old actually was excited to see all the flashing lights...

While I'm glad that there wasn't really a drive-by shooting in a neighborhood that is one mile from my house, I'm wondering now whose gun the 15 year old was playing with.

I TOTALLY CALLED THAT!!!!! I told hubby when I first read the story that either he did it himself or his friend did and they got scared they were gonna get in trouble. Now I can not wait for hubby to get home so I can say "I told you so" LOL

Why not just call him now?

He is working, I have always been the type unless it is an emergency I am not gonna call him and bug him at work. On that same note though if he gets a call from me when he is at work he knows it is important and does not blow it off.

My Sister in law will talk to her husband all day if he did not keep hanging up on her. She wants to just sit and listen to what he is doing and every time she hears some one talk she asks "who is that?". I can not stand clingy people like that.

Would a real drive-by constitute an emergency?

Anyhow... the dumbass kid probably thought he would get more street cred from a drive-by, rather than shooting his own stupid self.

I gave them 6 months but she ended up pregnant and the baby is about to be two. I really think the baby is what made him tough it out. That and the love for her son (she was pregnant when they met). One night he said he was not even sure how he put up with her but he could never give up the first born and knew he would not get visitation or custody. They do seem much happier now for the most part, I guess he is getting used to it. If she were my wife I would have to take up beating her. Guess it is a good thing I have a hubby and not a wife LOL

Sad part is that when people stay in a relationship for any other reason than because they really want to be with the person, they tend to regret it later in life. If he wanted to be in the kids life permanently, he can adopt the child.

If that's an option. The father may be involved. He can also take it to court.

yes there can be complications to the adoption thing - some guys are not involved, don't mind being off-the-hook financially, and allow their kid to be adopted.
