I spent last summer in Southern N.J. with my brother that managed girls (9-12 year olds) softball teams. I helped out as much as I could and was thorougly impressed. He also managed the 9/10 year olds all star team and those girls were real good. They won the division but finally lost out on going any further. They cried when they lost or when they caused a lose, but seeing an average player make the catch or hit that won the game brought tears to a lot of eyes. I was also amazed at the number of team supporters that attended the games. We'd go to another town to play and we'd outnumber them. I started in Little League, they didn't have T-ball back then, and my Dad was coach or manager and always made sure I got to the games. I went on to play in the Babe Ruth League and while in the Navy played until I was 35 and my arm just gave out. I wouldn't trade those experiences for anything. I still think my Dad was living his dream through me though because he was real good until he got hit by a train. Volunteering to coach doesn't take much except some of your time and the rewards are great. Your kids are the future so invest in them. Wow, I've never had so much to say before.

Maam,
I was the leauge Pres. in 99 and Dist. Admin for Dist7 in 2000. From that experience as well as the 17 yrs prior, we had a blast! The people there are great and wer able to help us out alot when we first signed up. I personally dont think you'll reget it
