Starship Logistics

So, the gargantuan steel rocket gets the press right? Stage Zero, the launch and stacking system, referred to as Mechazilla, gets less, but still some.

But strategic thinkers think logistics, right?

I present one of the unsung heros behind the magic of the worlds most powerful rocket, and the worlds most innovative launch and (hopefully) recovery system.

I give you The Manlifts!!!!!

For your consideration ...

Is that part of the rocket, or just of the launch pad system?
No rocket in this shot, just launch stuff.

The circular piece in the foreground is the Orbital Launch Mount (OLM) platform. Also contains Quick Disconnect (QD) that supplies the data and fuel feeds that connect to the first stage.

The tower behind it has four purposes
1. Lifts the first stage (Super Heavy booster, or SH) onto the OLM.
2. Stacks the orbital second stage (Starship, or just Ship) onto the SH.
3. Has a QD arm that pivots over to Ship and supplies fuel and data connections.
4. Will use those giant arms to catch returning boosters and ships. Below are two videos, one a time lapse of a stacking operation. And the other a render of a launch and return to catch. This will be attempted for the first time in a few week, we hope.

If you have never been on or worked off of a manlift let me, tell you they are awesome! Much better than ladders or scaffolding.
