So, I know I am a decade or more late with this, but, I wached this movie again and realized how good it was. I then went online to read reviews and comments. Apparently this movie was adapted from a book, and there was a huge debate on whether the movie was true to the premises in the book. Obviously, there are lots of themes going on in this movie, but what makes the movie so great, IMO, is that two people can watch it and get two entirely different perspectives from it.

You can also just enjoy the movie as 90210 in space if you prefer.

Anyone have any belated thoughts?

It's best not to think that the book and the movie are related, way different themes. The book is much better in my opinion.

why so serious
Heinlein is one of my favorite authors but I confess I haven't read this book. I honestly thought the movie sucked but at this rate it's been so long that I don't remember why:otter:
but because you are having a reconsideration I'll check it out. I thought I saw it on rotation on cable recently so I'll try to catch that and hopefully take something different out of it this time.:buddies:

I thought the movie was cornball on steroids. Denise Richards used to be kinda hot though.
If you thought the first one was bad the second one was really really bad. The third was a lot better that the second. I think Jolene Blalock had a lot to do with that.

I'm not a big sci-fi guy but this is a half-decent B- movie if you're looking for some time to kill.:buddies:
