HTH, do you expect to talk him into having make-up lovely relations in a restraunt that doesn't have a bar? Unless he's gay, a romantic atmosphere doesn't do a man crap; and, in that case, it looks like you're SOL anyway.

BTW, thanks for telling me you're one of the wonderful people that ruined the neighborhood I grew up in. I now understand how it went to s*** so quickly :twitch:

My vote is for Willow's , that's my fave!! Me and Paul Bunyan ate there Friday night in our costumes. They seated us at a table by the door (no barstools, whaa!) Tha owner came out and harassed us about out costumes and PDA(lol). A guy at the tabel next to us told me we made our whole night, coming in to a nice restaurant dressed like a mardi gras girlie and Paul B. With that I looked at him and said" Wow, and I didn't even flash you my tits!!" HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
I think everyone at their table pee'd their friggin' pants!!! TFF.
I have also waten at Clarke's Landing. VERY GOOD! but not nearly as "romantic" as Willow's.
I like to go down to DEANO'S in Ridge. Food is NOT that great, but the dinging room is usually nearly empty at 9pm , so that is somewhat romantic I guess.
I think Nook and Monk's is ok for lunch or brunch, it doesn't really feel like a dinner place.
Cafe D'Artistes was totally over rated. They had a decent wine list, and the food was ok, but seriously why pay money to eat somewhere that you feel you have to be quiet the whole time. It was like morgue in there, with about 20 or so 50-somethings in there fusing over where the napkin sat in their laps. Only old folks and dull azzes want a place that is that darn stuffy. even the guy playing the keyboard was falling asleep.I wanted to get up and dance around the tables but decided it was best just to eat and run.
I was always told that if you want steak, go to a steak house, and if you want seafood cook it yourself.

Buy some ribeye steaks, throw some Micormic (sp??) Montery Steak Seasoning on it and cook them yourself, light a few candles and enjoy. That seasoning is so good you can burn the damn things and still enjoy them. Also good on about anything else you can think of (shrimp, veggies, roasted potatoes, eggs, etc...)

I dont even like ordering steaks from anywhere now becuase w/o the seasonings they just dont seem to have any flavor.

Well, whatta' ya' want? You're awfully demanding. Must be romantic and cheap, have steak and seafood, and no bar. WTH did you expect?

How 'bout Linda's? I think it's Liver Night.
Agreed. "Romantic" and "cheap" *already* cancel each other out, pretty much. And nearly every restaurant above a Bob Evans level of ambience is GONNA HAVE A BAR. What's left is places like Ledo's or Cap'n Pat's or Nicoletti's - and they aren't steak and seafood.

Maybe she should shoot for "quaint" and go with a place like Bert's.

Well then, I don't know what you mean, then. For example, CD Cafe is very nice, cozy - my wife would call it 'romantic' - but it's not cheap. Lighthouse Inn is 'romantic' - but it can be pricey. DiGiovanni's is beautiful - but it's Italian, and not steak and seafood, AND it has a bar. I think the Dry Dock is *great* - but - it has a bar, is a little pricey AND can be hard to get a seat in. The Naughty Gull is nice, food is ok, view is nice - but - there's a bar.

I guess I can't get a feel for what you're looking for.

Yum!!! I love that stuff too!!!! Also put fresh garlic and olive oil on them. Try not to use and extra salt, as the seasoning has plenty already. MMMM, bovine flesh!

way late on this however

The best thing for a cheap romantic dinner is to make it yourself. Put a tablecloth on the table, go to wally world and buy some candles and some candleholder, get a cheap glass vase and some flowers. Dont forget some cloth napkins, wally world again, and maybe some mood music. Arrange the table, light the candles and have everything about ready when she gets home from work, or somewheres else.

What to cook you may ask? I dont know, you should know her better than me :lmao: Just something you know she likes. Even if you screw it up, she will appreciate the effort and you will be in her good graces again.

I would definitely say you came in late. She is cooking for him!! So maybe he won't notice she screwed it up. I have one question, why no bar?
