Stepped Motorcycle Licenses

I saw the conversation about the motorcycle accident and some conversation about restricting 18YOs from buying Busas (what about Corvettes?) so I thought I'd throw in a FYI thread about the UK's system of graded licenses. I think they should intro something like this here, for discussion:

- Class P: Moped, 16YO
- Class A-1: 17YO, 75cc - 125cc, under 14.6bhp, under 63mph
- Class A-2: 18+ under 33bhp (usually 400cc max) under 0.16kw/kg.
- Class AA/Full: 21+. This is complicated as only the Brits can make it, but you can graduate to bikes > 33bhp

I just think that licensing standards/qualifications should be changed. More extensive driver/rider training... something similar to what Germans have to go though.
