Stereo installation

I respect your input, just stating personal experience when I was looking for someone to install it. Dave told me seeing as it was Omega product and not viper installation could 8-10 hours and would cost $100 an hour to install. He also said that he recommended (which I understand him being a shop) that I return the Omega and get a viper and as it was inferior.

When I priced the viper alarms he showed me one for $450, which sells for under $100 online and he said it would be an additional $200 plus parts for install. Then he went into telling me that the key to my truck was wrong and my ignition must have been tampered with. Sorry but the owner of the shop and top installer telling me this information, while acting in an unprofessional manner just did not do it for me.

You're not stating your personal experience, you are exaggerating what happened for some reason. Let's start with the two different labor rates you have quoted, which one is it $80 or $100? Make up your mind. Actually let me make it up for you, you're wrong on both accounts. It's $85 an hour. Secondly, we don't sell Viper products.

Now let's talk about what really happened. You were quoted 3-4 hours labor to install your alarm. You were told it was $85 an hour. That was it. The unprofessional treatment that you think you received, didn't happen. End of story.

We apologize for not meeting your high standards of customer service. Perhaps you would be better served by visiting another car audio installer in your future needs.

This is why I learned to do everything myself. Less worrying about everyone else. Stereos, TVs, turbo timers, subs and amps, and just about everything else you can add to a 12vdc system. It's not hard to do. Especially when you can find wiring diagrams just about anywhere. I just added a stereo system to a 30 year old Jeep that wasn't wired for one.

Never compare internet prices to brick and mortar prices. Never going to be the same.

I expect a markup, I understand that they need the profit to survive.

Main reason I expanded past your standard amp and head unit installs when I first did video system installs. Have done about 15 custom screen installs for people, 10 RS/alarms, and well over 100 head units. Not including amp/subs and speaker replacements. Never had complaints, and only one issues with an RS/alarm which ended up being a bad brain.

Sebring we can go back and forth on this, its pretty pointless. I will say I'm glad you remember the price, but I know I was quoted 8-10 hours. You might also remember the other question I asked then. I never said anything about the shops work just the way person acted and the quote I was given for an install. Besides you are correct in the fact that there are not many if no other shops in the area, and they have saved my butt a few times when I needed stuff. PS the wheel lock key you sold me fit perfectly.
