Stevia SUCKS

Most people use well more than 1 teaspoon.
Like me.

It's not good for you if you're on any type of diet.

Well, my "diet" could prob'ly use a little tweaking, but it's not so much what I eat, than it is how much I eat. I can eat things like broiled fish and veggies 7-days-a-week, but my problem is eating til it's gone; not eating til I'm "comfortably full."
I don't watch TV and eat a whole bag of Doritos or a whole box of cookies anymore; but I can put a hurtin' on salted sunflower seeds though.

I guess if I could squelch my sugar intake, I might lose a little.
Discipline is the tough part.

I am a big fan of splenda, if I HAVE to use something. I have tried stevia, but found that I react pretty strongly to the chemical taste of it, and it makes my mouth/tongue numb. Not sure if perhaps I am allergic, or maybe just sensitive..but I do not use it anymore.

To me though, all of the Splenda's and Stevia's taste like saccharin.

Salt and sugar are learned tastes, btw, so once they are acquired, they are extremely difficult habits to break, which is partly why some struggle with it more than others. 15 kCals per tsp isn't a big deal except when it's multiplied into large amounts and consumed often. Artificial sweeteners can help people break the cycle of consuming too much sugar.

It was hard for me to get used to it, but my wife had gestational diabetes and I quit the sugar addiction when she did. Now if I order a diet soda and they bring me regular it tastes nasty. Too sweet and syrupy.

I went on a major shopping spree yesterday and ended up with yogurt and jello parfaits with aspartame for the sweetener (the light and sugar free seem to be in fine print now) I'm trying to give them all away to neighbors. :barf:

Christmas cookies received last year were made with Splenda. :barf:
Everyone already had cookies galore so I threw them out.

I had a Stevia plant last summer. I chewed the leaf ( I read about it and knew I could) Another barf reaction. I only bought it because I thought it was a zucchini plant (it was in the same pallet)

SUGAR RULES! I don't care if it's bleached or brown. REAL sugar I grew up with, please!

I feel that sweeteners are like pizza. There are a billion different versions out there, they all serve a purpose, probably aren't the best choice of food for survival, and everyone has their own preference. I don't think any of them taste exactly like any of the others, really.

You could stop posting about every random thought beating you in the back of your eyeballs and take a walk. That might help offset some of your sugar intake.

I use a product called Dominoe Light, It's pretty good, Like 1/2 sugar and 1/2 Stevia. Cut the potatoes out also pasta.
I was told Recently that I have diabetes type 2, so I look around for sugar ingredients, the stuff is everywhere, I look for sugar free Ice cream, no such thing. It says: no sugar added but still has sugar although much less.
