@StmarysCity79 is under the impression that the stimulus money came from the government, not from the taxes we pay in so that our elected officials can make themselves rich while pretending to be leading the country. This is the mentality of the left. Gimme, gimme, gimme (someone else's money). They don't realize it was stolen from us productive members of society to fund their voter generating welfare programs in the form of lowlife baby factories.
I am enjoying watching this fight for the heart and soul of the Rep party.
I figured I'd be watching the Dem party doing the same thing by now. I guess the SocDems do not have the numbers to push the Establishment Dems yet.

They make a huge deal about how the Speaker has to be a good fundraiser. Maybe they should find a Rep from outside govt that can follow Robert's Rules of Order and raise lots of money for Reps.
Reading FN, sounds like this Johnson guy has a pretty good shot. Conservatives and most Establishment-types like him.

I think he has a patriot score of 75%, something like that which is lower than Jordan who has a 100% but higher than McCarthy who was only 50ish percent.
The one thing this speaker race is showing us is that we really don't have many true republicans or conservatives in office like we think.
Is a Patriot score less than 50% a Democrat?
McHenry has no real power than calling the House together to elect a Speaker.

No. I was pointing out the hypocrisy of people claiming to hate everything the government does then gleefully cashing stimulus checks and pandemic relief funds
