If you still mail checks, get a Uniball 207 pen. It is claimed to be wash-resistant. Frankly, I would use it on any legal document.

We're heavily invested in custom checks that are formatted to be printed by a dedicated laser printer and sent out in window invelopes...direct output from our accounting software.
Had to stop using that system and put a large extra workload on our office manager...hand addressing every envelope. Our business sends out a lot of checks.
