Stomach bug

I picked my kids up from school and one of them is complaining of not feeling well. He managed to not :barf: in my truck, but as soon as we got home, he did it in the driveway. He has since thrown up several times.

So I quizzed him about what he ate, when he started feeling bad, etc. and discovered that one of the kids in his class apparently got sick after school yesterday. This kid stayed home today, but several children in the class started feeling sick this afternoon, around the same time mine did....great, just what I need with 4 kids of my own is something contagious. :banghead:

My son started last Wednesday, other son started shortly after. The next day my husband and I got it. It's terrible...I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Good luck and drink LOTS of fluids cause you're going to need them. Be prepared to not feel right for at least 3 or 4 days.

A friend of mine posted last night that her child was sick along with a few kids in her childs class. It's that time of year.... yuck yuck....

Hope he is feeling well soon. Hope the other children get through without it.

Well, he didn't throw up overnight. He's eaten one french toast stick and a little milk so far this morning and kept it down. But he's clearly not feeling well. He's laying on the couch and occasionally lets out a little groan. But he seems to be getting better.

Usually it's a 24-36 hour thing. Not too bad unless the brown river starts flowing.:barf:

In the past when I get that stomach bug, I was always told to force fluids and clear liquids.......soup broth, water.....Gator Ade helps also.....flushes the system and fights dehydration.....good luck.....hope things get better soon.....

Well so far it's only coming out one end, so he's not getting dehydrated. He specifically asked for milk and he NEVER drinks plain milk voluntarily, so I figured there must be a reason for the craving, so I went with it. He's definitely on the mend.

I have heard that half of the third grade in our school is out because of it. I know a kid in my daughters class got sick in the class and the rest of the class had to stay in the class room until it got cleaned up. It took them and hour and a half to get "the appriate items" to clean it up.

Glad he's starting to feel a little better. I hope by some miracle that the rest of your family is spared!

That's ridiculous, an hour and a half? Poor kids!

Sounds to me like a really bad hangover :killingme

You'd know it if it was the bug. That shiat went through the family faster than the last meal at dinner time! I don't think a radar gun could have clocked that.

I was fine at 6:45

at 6:46 I got horrible chills. By 7:05 I was looking for a bathroom to :barf: or :geek: I made it home in time, but barely. The chills and :barf: lasted until about 7 am, by then I felt like I had been run over by a fleet of buses. The stomach pains were horrible and I still had the quirts and a headache all day Monday.

My ribs and back are still hurting today, but I do feel better thank goodness.

Had that. Woke up feeling fine, but by 10:30 it was awful. After the initial wave of extreme symptoms was over, all I wanted to do was sleep for the next two days.

Boy went back to school today. I told him the sm8 had told me that according to her kid, who is in another class in the same school, my son's class was down to 8 kids yesterday....he tells me that that was incorrect, there were only 7 kids (out of 22) in his class yesterday... 6 kids were out today.

the last few managed to get it as well huh.... what did all those kids share a soda at lunch...?? Goodness that spread through the class quick.

Hopefully the rest of your family pulls through with out getting it.

I asked him if the 6 were in class yesterday and he said not all of them, so I don't know for sure how many escaped unscathed. Apparently one of the kids threw up in class after lunch on Tuesday and kids in the boy's class started feeling bad about 2-3 hours later, so it's possible that it was airborne in the classroom. The only one in the family with any symptoms besides the boy, has been huntr, who stayed home from work today, but he never :barf: so maybe we are off the hook.
