Stopping the auto load graphic ads?

...is there a way? They are killing the forum experience.

I let the flash player get so out of date my browser no longer let it load and the ads stopped and that means that stopped capturing my computer and stopped turning typing into Chinese Water torture. That was good but I couldn't watch vids on youtube/FB etc.

Vrai told me to update it. So, I did.

Now, I updated it and the problem is back and it is ONLY on SOMD. I hate this. A lot.

Help?

Yes, there is. Download Adblock Plus and install it into your browser. There is also an added benefit because adware usually comes with malware and you don't have to do anything for malware to install itself on your computer these days. It is better to use these than to give adware a chance to infect your computer.

Every time one of the ads clogs it all up and makes me feel like I am in quicksand, I hear "Hey, hey, hey! It's 714!"

You mean the ads that we never buy products from? The ads that make my computer lock up? The ads that are intrusive and give me malware? You mean there will be less telemarketers trying to sell me stuff that I don't have money for? I couldn't have enough money for people running a business and they call my house like they are running a business. No thank you.

Ghostery, Ad block, Privoxy proxy, anonymous browser window... they are all ways to block the advertising and to stop being tracked.

Larry, I told you disable Flash for this site. I was having the same problem; I disabled Flash, problem gone.

And it can't possibly be just this site that serves up the occasional problem ad. As is, that's impossible.
