After Superstorm Sandy, an outfit leased portions of the site to store all of the flood-damaged vehicles from NY for disposal. The Riverhead town counsel made a lot of money doing nothing, so when the latest storm came thru and there were more flood damaged cars, the town gladly allowed the contractor to store vehicles there again for some $400K.
