Storm Debris removal question?

My neighbors left all their #### out on their backyard and it ended up being blown into our backyard and getting damaged in the process. Am I allowed to pile this up for the County to pick up or is it something they have to take the responsibility to do.

See one of my neighboys appreciated me cleaning their stuff up and getting it back to them but these other people just complained when I was cleaning it up so I've left it there, in our yard. I'm just sick of looking at this pile of ####.

I say give them verbal notification that they have x amount of hours to claim their stuff otherwise it is going to the dump. You only have to say it once... then you can consider it storm trash.

If they were from Florida or if we were in Florida, they wouldn't have left that crap out there to begin with I can promise you that much.

They call me ... Sarcasmo
Your stuff is my crap, (to parasphrase George Carlin) So if your stuff is in my yard, I'll give you 24 hrs to get it out OR it becomes crap and goes to the dump.

Still it's common sense. Hurricane = wind and rain. Wind blows things away. Rain causes flooding and can wash things away.

Sunny day over here, hurricane over here.

It's in your yard. Pick it up, put it in the trailer/back of pick up and then knock on neighbor's door and say "I am making a run to the dump, want to add anymore of your stuff to the pile in the truck/trailer?"

If they're stupid enough to complain and not come and get their own stuff, then it goes to the dump. They are probably the type that expect you to do it for them. :bs:

Why don't you drag it back over into their yard?

I can't make out what these remains are. I'll probably just throw it in their backyard.

Don't bother. Doing this will only further give them reason to complain. It's been in your yard long enough. They obviously don't miss it. Take it to the dump. You don't have to tell them anything at this point. If you can't make out what the stuff is, you can't prove that it's theirs, and vise versa. Even if they ask you if you've seen XXXX items,. If you give it back to them, or if they take it back, it'll only wind up in your yard again at some point.

How's your cleanup coming. Get rid of all the trees yet?

I cleared my driveway and pretty much stopped at that. Too much work to do inside. I have a huge pile of debris on my trailer, and 3 more in the yard that need to be taken care of, still have some trees that I'll have to cut down, and logs to be cut smaller, but all that can wait till I'm ready to do it...or till Hurricane Florence blows it into the neighbors yard.

Bite your tongue about Florence. I don't need anymore crap to clean up. Still have a shingle on the roof to replace. Let me know when you ready to start cutting trees up and I'll come over with the chain saw.
