Stormy Daniels and Monica Lewinsky? Why the Hypocrisy

I believe that one of the major reasons that most people are willing to ignore this story of some Porn star having sex with Trump is that people other than Trump haters have become immune to charges against Trump because so many have been and are being made every day.
Just plain sick of the Hate Trump BS day after day after day. The Cry Wolf syndrome.

When you guys spill your bile every day it gets a bit old and people tend not to pay much attention to it.

Just another day of crying because Trump was elected.Wipe your tears and get a life.

Translation. Trump is such a piece of crap nothing he does or says is shocking anymore. The office of the president has been so denigrated that nothing really matters anymore.

It's that and also that they make a big deal out of the dumbest crap. I can't even stand to listen to it anymore. I used to go between Fox and CNN to try and get all the news from all perspectives, but CNN is such a fountain of stupid anymore that I just can't. Diet sodas and meatloaf and dentures and fake Russian dossiers and fake doctors diagnosing and books with fake sources and on and on and on. Good grief. You have to be seriously mental to want to sit through that garbage.

This particular story - this Stormy Daniels thing - has nothing to do with Trump's presidency. Like, no thing. IF he was involved with this person, it was long before he was even a presidential candidate, so who cares? If sex is the criteria, then Bill Clinton has to give back every second of his 8 years. If it's about a shady past, Barack Obama needs to give back HIS 8 years.

Trump is being "held to a standard" that these people didn't want to hold their own guy to, so they can piss up a rope and go die somewhere.

When Trump has sex in the Oval while head of state waits on him, lies about it to the people and under oath, convinces other people to perjure themselves and lies about that, and his wife cries about how it's all made up and defamed his accusers' characters, I think we should be as outraged as we were over Clinton.

If the accusations in this case are true, it's kind of crappy on a personal level for Trump.

As for what celebrity religious figures have to say about it, I really can't care enough to form an opinion.

Does that answer your question, Sap?

These psychos should have to spend their own freaking money trying to find anything - anything at all - that they can impeach our President over. It's bull#### that they're spending our money on it. If they didn't have a blank check from the American taxpayers I guarantee they'd stop.

There's a tinge of truth to this. Name a politician that isn't a piece of crap on some level; yet the people keep electing them. Do we need to start listing them?

Trump may be a piece of crap on the womanizing front, but he is getting things done that are important to me. If you're looking for some pristine person to hold high offices, you're going to remain in a constant state of disappointment. I mean, look at who the democrats put as their candidate. Hillary Clinton has more scandal and criminality that followers her than anyone I've ever seen in my adult life. Yet, democrats thought this was the best they could do.

The office of the president was denigrated long before Trump or Clinton became president: LBJ, JFK, Eisenhower, FDR, Harding... Ted Kennedy, in his drunken stupor, murdered a woman and still the people of Massachusetts felt he was a good candidate. People have decided that certain morals do not disqualify someone from holding office. That's just an ugly and uncomfortable fact.

CBS News said:
STRASSMAN (Reporter): Has your support for Trump lessened one bit?
HUGHES (Trump voter): Absolutely not.
DIEHL (Trump voter): Not at all.
JONES (Trump voter): No.
STRASSMAN (Reporter): Not one bit?
JONES (Black, female, young voter): No, I don’t look at him as, you know, my pastor or my moral leader. I look at him as the leader as it relates to governmental issues.
DIEHL: We’re not looking for somebody charming. We’re looking for a man who knows how to turn things around, and he’s got a track record of turning things around.

I'm sure you have a point here.

The quote above the video - bolded for the point

People stopped caring about political leaders as moral leaders around the turn of the century (that would be the 18th century turning to the 19th century). They want political leaders, not the head of the state church.

Well Clinton did do a pretty good job of denigrating the oval office and he definitely denigrated the sink when he ejaculated into it.
Trump did what he is accused of before the Presidency, (if he did it at all) and not in the oval office.

But you and I know that is not what I said. What I said ,and I will repeat, is that some people have TDS and harp and harp on Trump so much that sane people do not pay much attention to them anymore. You are eaten up with TDS and really should seek help.

I think I already said as much. A politician's sexual behavior is pretty low on my list of concerns. The only time I give it consideration is when I question their discipline; if they can't have the discipline to care enough about their commitment to their spouse, how can I trust they will hold their commitment to the people? From that standpoint, these adulterers are pieces of crap.

But playing to Sap's contention that we were all over Clinton's sexual misdeeds while ignoring Trump's is just false. Clinton's encounter with Monica became more of a punchline to a sick joke than it did a concern for his fitness to be president. I was astounded that Hillary, a so-called flaming feminist stayed with Bill. Instead, she went on smear campaigns against Clinton's accusers. Then posed herself as a champion for women by telling women "every woman should be heard". Again, the whole Clinton narrative became more of a joke than anything else for a lot of people. Outside of that, I don't think most people on the right gave a damn about Bill's philandering ways. What we did care about is that he lied about it under oath.

Trump? Nothing surprises me about what this guy might have done with women. On that front I kind of see him like I see JFK. He loves his women. Being a committed married man, it bothers me; but I'm not here to change the world in that aspect.

So are you equally astounded that Melania has not left Donald?
