can u breed your basset and beagle?????? we used to have one and she was the most awesome dog! unfortunately her breeder, bred the mom so much she came out all messed up. one leg longer than the other so it bowed out, her ears were different lengths, when she was 2 1/2 yrs old she had the spine of a 14 yr old dog, horrible athritis etc, we spent as much as we could at the vet but eventually we had to put her down at the age of 5 (I will definitely foster if we can catch him....have a bassett and beagle and a nice outdoor pen and will work w/ him and take care of the vet stuff, too, if need be. Someone else said they saw him way up by the Chaptico Park, that's close to a mile up 234. He wasn't around this morning around 8:00 or so.

They trapped him last night in my crate and tied it up nice, before I got the message and could get there, he flipped the crate over, pushed the tray out far enough and squeezed through the bigger holes in the bottom of the crate leaving a nice curved bent part where his back and body stretched the wire to the side! UGH! I saw him again this a.m. but everytime he got near the crate someone drove by and spooked him. I had to leave to go to work but I'll try again later. Some benedryl might help. He is at least 25-30 lbs and you could barely see his ribs so he is eating good. If I catch him some benadryl and a muzzle as a precaution would be a good idea....at least it would calm him from trying to escape.

Was someone looking for a nice Basset mix? SecondHopeRescue.org has a nice one, check it out. you will need an approved application and home visit plus $200 to adopt but they have the awesomest dogs! Also they are vetted, H/W tested and on preventative, spayed/neutered, parasite free, and microchipped. Many are housetrained.
what a cutie!I think you're talking about Stella, the dog that won Best Kisser at the Petco event? She found a grreat new home last weekend!

I think you all have scared him enough for now. Maybe wait a couple of days before you start chasing him again. Let him continue to be fed at the market a couple of days without any pressure of being snared or trapped.
One of the workers at the market finally got to the dog and took it home before all the snow storms.
