Interesting thread. Great read. Quite a collection of cars on here. My street racing days are decades behind me. Now it an old mans Grand Marquis and old Ford Power Stroke 4x4. The Mercury is showing its age and needs to be replaced.
Was an old lady, like 60-70s old, she rocked a Marauder for a few years in the Lex Park area, woulda been in the 2003-2006 timeframe, when I was driving the SRT-4 around. Saw one of the new space age CTS-Vs just today. Wife thinks I'm a loon for keeping a running inventory of "cool" cars around the areaFrom the kid with the 240SX that has plastic fenders riveted on to the Fiesta ST, the Hennesy Viper that commutes, I notice cars everywhere
At least I am not the only one.
You have company. I just enjoy cars. Have a few favorites but enjoy seeing all of them.
My wife says I should be a repo guy, used to play a game where I would try and guess what was behind us based on the headlights. Was pretty accurate, now they all look the same. I love looking at a vehicle and picking out subtle differences that make it, its own. Like seeing a debadged car, it looks stock to most people. In reality they want theirs to stand out from the others, even if its something that subtle.

<-- Another car guy (that owns a Civic Si as a my daily driver by the way.)
Yeah..it is too bad..I used to do the same thing. Some of the newer cars with daytime LEDs are getting creative with their look.
Yep, one Tesla S right near my office, driven by a lady. Just saw a new white ST Focus walking over to lunch![]()
Eww that made me through up in my mouth a little bit.
Have you seen the 2015 C7 Z06's yet? Its a 625hp supercharged beast. I can't wait to get my hands on one of them.
Will be interesting to see how the C7 Z06 performs. Definitely a sweet car. Problem in real world is that anything rwd with over 500 hp becomes increasingly hard to launch and will generally have serious traction issues. They have some fancy traction control on the the new z06 and the first ever auto which should help alot, but all the traction control really does is cut power to the limits of adhesion.
As someone said earlier, the Vipers are just as bad if not worse. Early models were an absolute joke and even the later ones are a handful. Again, traction is their problem.
Ive had one of almost everything and I think Im hooked on the awd supercars. Porsche turbos and currently GTR. Absolute animals on the street where roads are imperfect and dual clutch trannys to make anyone look like a pro. Amazing when you can drive to the strip getting 22mpg with the AC and stereo on, avoid the burnout box and launch it to a mid 10s pass. Then drive back home stopping for groceries for the wifey. Technology is great sometimes.
See that all the time, a lot of sound and fury, signifying nothingWHAAAAAAA, WHAAAAA, VTEC YO!!!!!!!!!!. And wala, you are at 30 before you know it.
My friend Prasad has a GTR, sweet car. I think he was recently going for the 1/4mile record on stock turbo's..if I'm not mistaken he ran a 10 flat, but I'm not sure if that broke the record or not. Then he went E85 tune and dipped into the high 9's. That car is fast for sure, though it's not really my cup of tea. Just a little to big/expensive for me. If I had the money to buy one of those, I think I'd rather have a 911, but that's not really a problem I have at the moment. lol.
So what's worse, the four wheel street racing rice burner, the two wheel street racing rice burner or the giant 4 wheel street racing SUV/Truck fuel burner![]()
