I have no idea, and neither do you. But it should be pretty easy to have one of the parents or teachers on this board come tell us what the kids had for lunch today.

You WANT it to be that these kids are starving to death and it's all Michelle Obama's fault. IF you are a conservative, and clearly you are not, you would agree that it's up to parents, and NOT the federal government, to feed their children. So does it take a ####ing village or not?

Again, here in St Mary's county we can still get away with that, and our schools are still serving decent, edible school lunches. Some parts of the country (think Democratic hotbeds) you aren't allowed to bring a sack lunch to school.. Parents do not know what is good for their own children.

No, you totally made that up and twisted it to fit your agenda. To me "thoughtful" would mean someone who is solution oriented with a few brain cells to rub together, and not a bunch of political hacks who just want to call Michelle Obama names and talk about what a fat cow she is.

Are you trying to say that this group is preventing parents from voting in the School Board elections? Because that is a different scenario entirely.

I don't know how you draw your conclusions here. I don't want the kids to starve, I don't see all this as a conspiracy by the Donks to somehow further depreciate the public schools or anything. I'm must asking, how is it that we've come to the point that a 'healthy' diet is a sparse diet and that lack of choice is more desirable than choice or 'bring your own.' I walked home for lunch because my family couldn't afford the tariff the schools charged, but I grew up within 10 blocks of the schools I attended.

Then what on earth is your point? You asked a strawman question: "How is it that..." without any proof whatsoever that "it" is indeed the case.

I'd like to know why parents who are receiving food stamps also get free breakfast and lunches for their children. Isn't that what food stamps are intended to help?

This article appears in the April issue of the American Legion Magazine. The military is chiming in of the childhood obesity issue stating that it is also a National Security issue. Why... because too many recruits are either ineligible for enlistment or washing out of basic training. They appear to be focusing on the schools as well, both with regards to meals and physical education programs.

Only if you can afford NOT to be blackmailed.. Luckily we have that ability to not depend on Federal dollars for a lot of things.
