As in, recipes made with stuffed ham.

The traditional sandwich is stuffed ham on white (!) bread with a slather of mayo (!). Not wheat bread, and certainly not salad dressing - white (!) and mayo (!).

My-thyme suggested a stuffed ham quiche, which sounds delicious.

I've made stuffed ham casserole with ham, whole wheat penne, and a cheddar cheese sauce and it was delectable.

Stuffed ham and bean soup is extraordinary, but make sure you have extra spicy stuffing or it will be bland.

What else can you do with stuffed ham? Stuffed ham omelets?

I have been searching for a stuffed ham soup recipe like McKay's makes. It is so delish but I found nothing on the interwebs. I guess I could just make some potato soup w/o cream and buy some already stuffed ham to throw in it. Does anyone have a recipe?

Not much on the white bread. I like mine on potato bread.

I am not a stuffed ham expert, but I'd go with the casserole idea, more like a gratin with thin sliced taters and your cheddar cheese sauce.

That sounds really good! Will put that on the list of dishes to bring for holiday potluck gatherings.

True Story !
When I worked at Webster Field many years ago, there was a girl in my office that had just moved down here from DC, city born and raised.
Someone had given her a recipe for stuffed ham and she had to try it out for herself.
While cooking the ham on a Sunday, she realized that she had no cheesecloth
to wrap the ham up in, so she used the only other available alternative..a pair of pantyhose.

She said that the resulting ham tasted a little funny.
We told her that she should have used a 'clean' pair of panyhose.

I'm sure that the melted nylon gave off some noxious results !

City girl never lived that one down !

I use cheesecloth game gags for it, they're big enough to fit over a deer so we fold it back over itself so it ends up being double thickness. You can get them at tackle box and probably walmart.

Do these bags let the stuffing float out?

I put all my extra stuffing in the pillowcase with the ham.

No it hold it tight, it also makes it easier to squeeze the extra liquid out this makes the ham slice easier.

Prolly be good with a basic white sauce and some veg, too. Peas or green beans, perhaps. Panko crumbs dotted with butter on top, to crisp up all golden brown and caloric.

Had the quiche tonight for dinner with a light green salad. Yum.

I think the scalloped potato idea is great, gonna try that one.

Take perfectly good ham, stuff it in some old underwear, drag it behind the lawn mower for an hour or so.

Pretty much anything you can use plain ham in you can substitute stuffed ham. I made a stuffed ham omelette this morning - OMG!

I don't know McKay's recipe, but the cook at Raley's once told me they used stuffed ham scraps, chicken stock, and fresh slivered cabbage as the stuffing tends to cook away.
