Summer Vacation Suggestions

Peace
if you go to vermont, make sure to plan time to do a trip into New Hampshire to see Mt Washington.

I dont know too much about the cities in this great nation, but between my parents dragging us around, and me and pan lady dragging the skillet child (and sometimes her friends) I have been to every state, every national forest and park.
Cities are just places to slow down traffic on the way to the next frontier.

That's the way we vacationed as kids too. One year (the year we did Cherokee) we started south in williamsburg, then North Carolina, and circled up through Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

In My Opinion
atlantic city.

beach in the day
casino at night.

its a win, win.
casino at night wont work when you have children.
when we go to vegas, we are only going to see the lights, and maybe a child friendly show or two.
no gambling.

Ive come to really enjoy the vacations that are planned for my daughter, and Pan lady to places they have never seen.
for them it is a fresh new adventure, for me it is my childhood all over, except now Im the parent, and skillet girl is the child. oh, and I dont threaten to pull over on the side of the road and beat her with a belt with her pants down in front of all the other cars..... Im leaving that part out.

but then, I did say it once on the way to Yellowstone just so I could have the full effect of the parent side.

I just had gambling on the brain. I would never go to atlantic city for family vacation.

gatlinburg tn, if u need a place to stay let me know.

We're going there this summer. We are so looking forward to it. Went there about 5 yrs ago. We've already got our rental cabin picked out too.

R.I.P. Bobo, We miss you!
We are looking forward to warmer weather now that the chill has set in this week! We have a 5 and 3 year old and we are looking for a family friendly vacation spot no more than 8'ish hours away. Ideally it would be an ocean spot with some things for kids to do, but not packed like Nags Head or O.C.

I looked at Myrtle Beach online, but it looked more like a city that a relaxed beach town. We went to Topsail last year, but there wasn't much for the kids to do when we wanted a break from the beach.

Any suggestions?

The Great Wolf Lodge was a blast, we did it actually last Christmas but I have several friends who have gone in summer. Fun for both children and parents!! Oh yeah, we went to the one in Williamsburg so you have several other attractions there as well.
