With an eye toward easing bordem...

I'll take the Saints,....and the Colts as winners today.

Neither game should be especially close...but, I do NOT write from vast experience weighing dull competitors.

I could care less about football. Sorry! I just cook the meals and serve my hub, his brother, and dad so they can watch all the games. I enjoy my part, and they definitely enjoy the personal service, and pampering. They will be here for the 1pm game tomorrow. Menu: chili dip and tortilla chips, salad, dry rub ribs on grill, cornbread, ham essence green beans, baked beans, and peanut butter cookies for dessert! Go, any team!

Meh. Football is a spectacle, but not spectacular. I was nuts about it for years. Now I'm just nuts. The TV won't even be on.

Just hoping for a nice weather day February 2, 2014 - like 26 degrees, 20 mph swirling wind, accompanied by a nice snow dump just prior to the game, and sleet mixed with ice during the game, causing massive delays in traffic and commuter trains.

The teams that make it deserve to be there, but in a traditional warm weather outdoor site.

Weather shouldn't bother the teams, but would sure PO the commish and all the fat cats sitting in the non-luxury boxes, i.e., regular seats.

All because NJ had to have a super bowl just because.....:yahoo:

I want the Pats - have always been a Patriot fan from when I first started watching pro football back in the mid 60's, but they have to get past Denver in Denver, and Manning is just, well, Manning - the best all time QB in mechanics and thought process, IMHO.:yahoo:

I want to see the Broncos and the Seahawks, both number 1 seeds. Last time that happened was 1993, Cowboys vs Bills.

I'd like to stick with my AFC Pats to beat the Seahawks in the SB. That way at least my NFC Bucs will still have a one-up on Seattle for the last two true expansion teams established in 1976........:yahoo:

Interesting point I just heard;

Sundays game in Seattle is for the Lombardi Trophy (Super Bowl winner).

Why? Two of the best defenses, host Seattle at #1, San Fran at #5, league wide, with the #17 and #24 offenses, both with strong running games, will meet for the right to play in the Super Bowl, in New Jersey, outside, in February, against one of two offensive powers, Denver at #1 and NE at 7, who have, respectively, the 19th and 26th defenses.

What would you rather have going for you, outside, in February?

Just hadn't given much thought to the SB game sight, past how stupid the idea is, until I heard that argument above.

I'll stick with NE if they can get past Denver, which I believe they can just because their D is better than Denver's D. I know NE has lost their past two SB's at the very end, on well-covered receivers making unbelievable, probably never to be seen again in those situations, catches that put the NYG in the position to win with little or now time left.

Still, give Belichek two weeks to prepare, I'll stick with NE against either Seattle or the furt-niners.

If it is real cold, the passing game would be hindered so I would lean toward the strong defense to win. If the temps are up and the ball is soft, I would want the strong offense with the passing game.

sp - did I meet you at a meet and greet late June at the Rivers Edge in Benedict? That was my first and probably only, and I remember Bann, FH, I believe Vince, and about five others, and for some reason I seem to recall your title.

IMHO, if NE makes it to the game, the Pats D will hold up well against either the Seattle or SF offenses, regardless of weather. Their D is very opportunistic coached by the master of opportunistic D's.

NE on offense is the superior passing game, and their ground game is very, very good, as demonstrated the latter part of the season. So here as well, regardless of the weather, I would be favorable of NE.

Still, the Pats have to defeat Denver and the best QB of all time in Denver first. If Denver wins, I would have to bet on the NFC winner to win the SB simply because the Denver D is just not good enough to hold down either Seattle or SF.

Throw in the injury bug possibilities, and it is all wide open.:buddies:
