You're so full of it!!!...but you keep pushing that lie...
STD79 will stand by your fantasies...
Sorry hun, lets wait for people who have actually use those facilities to weigh in.. FYI, I spent 4 years at Fort McPherson in a building across from the commissary and the MPs were called out damn near every single day, usually more than once a day, to collect some shoplifting crap stain.

Now while we have all seen wild videos of flash mobs robbing convenience stores, I have never actually seen someone being arrested for shoplifting at any store I frequent.

You can believe what you want, apparently your position is that the children of enlisted military are all perfectly upstanding citizens, but that's not the fact. I assume if you have ever been in a post exchange it's because you are a military spouse, right? Go around wearing your husband's rank and pretending you know things on the forum?

Power with Control
I would bet against that any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I have personally witnessed more hood rat military dependents in the post exchange and commissary stuffing things in their pants than I have ever noticed in a normal grocery store or box store.
Ah Army base. In Hotlanta no less. I might say your experience might differ from the norm given the location. But in any case, I'll make three points. Been shopping in Navy exchanges and commissaries for 40 years and four different bases and have never witnessed any shoplifting.

1. Shrink isn't shoplifters getting caught, its people actually walking out.
2. Seems retail shrink isn't well studied. And no real data on urban vs suburban vs rural differences. Average losses seem to be in the 1%-3% range, with /lossprevention members having individual stories that range up to double digits.
3. Retailers are closing urban stores for a reason. Could be racism, but I'll note that these same folks rail against corporations holding green over all colors, when businesses have to close, its because they don't like minorities money?

Wrong...on every level there, dirty knees...Not only did I serve in the Military myself, I've spent a better part of my life working on Army, Navy, Air Force & Marine Installations, as well as The Naval Academy and all over DC...and I can't seem to recall ANYTHING like you are describing...I'm guessing the reality is it was YOU & your douche "gang" causing all of these shoplifting incidences...That's the only logical explanation why you were there EVERY TIME the commissary got jacked...admit it...it was you & your douchebag crew stealing chocolate bars & tampons...

My position is...you're a lying pile of excrement...these things only happened when you were involved in the shoplifting...
And your previous avatar lets me know what position is yours...bottom

I don't use the exchange much and the only incident I've ever heard about shoplifting there was an officer's wife and that was in the papers; y'all probably read about it.

Now the commissary - that's become a lot easier to shoplift there. They have self-checkout and I've walked out of there myself with a bag of cough drops that was under my bag. My BF has walked out with batteries, the woman parked next to me walked out with a case or two of soft drinks. There's no alarm at the door if you don't ring up everything and the employees who sit at the desk by the self checkout aren't really paying that much attention.

The difference between us and the so called hood rats is that we've probably served, our dependents have the fear of God instilled in them, we don't want to lose that valuable ID card, and we have a sense of right and wrong because everyone of us who have inadvertently walked out with unpaid merchandise have turned around and walked right back in to pay.

Maybe that's just here at Patuxent River but I've been in and around the Navy as a dependent or a sailor for over 40 years; shoplifting if it occurs at all is not rampant. We're better than that.

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

Kinda in the same vein. A true story from times past in Germany .... A "Karen", married to an enlisted fella, living in on Post Housing, thought she could complain about near every damn thing to the Post Commander. Well, the Post Commander had a chat with this fella's Battalion Commander. Then the Battalion Commander had a chat with the fella's Company Commander. Then the Company Commander had a chat with the fella's Platoon Leader. Then the Platoon Leader had a chat with the fella. The entire Chain of Command was now in the loop concerning her transgressions. Very soon after, kinda sorta almost immediately, that "Karen" never bothered the Post Commander ever again. Apparently sh!t does roll downhill getting larger as it goes and traveling at warp speed. In addition to memos being shared at every level and at morning formations as to the meaning concerning the Post Commander's open door policy.

Moral of the story? Dependents better know the limits placed upon them .... And the Chain of Command.
