Six kittens and their mother are unhappily residing in one of my bathrooms. They were born under a neighbor's shed and he called animal control to come get them. Another bathroom has two cats, one of which is healing from a bite wound. If you do the math, that's 9 cats plus we have a dog. My husband is not happy about getting kitty litter stuck to his feet every time he needs to go into a bathroom and being overrun with cats. Can anyone help and possibly take a kitten??? I'll repeat...HELP!!

Please be EXTREMELY careful with the cat with the bite wound. Has it been seen by a vet..do you know what bit it? If not, you need to be concerned about rabies, especially if it was a stray.
As I posted yesterday, I'm with PAWS and all of our foster homes are full to the brim. Most other rescues are full as well. Tri County is overflowing but probably will take them...cannot guarantee what will happen to them though.

When is animal control coming to get them?
Animal control was at the neighbor's house on Wednesday. He told them he would be back on Monday. All of the kittens and their mother have been gathered up now; therefore there is no reason for him to come back. I'm just putting the word out that there is another batch of kittens that need homes.

I wish I could help but I'm up my ears in cats right now - trying to get 2 placed, but after that I could take in 2 of the kittens and try to place them? This wouldn't before 1 week or more, as my crew is just getting over a URI ..... and I wouldn't want to bring in any new cats just yet that could get sick.
Any help will be appreciated. I have a trip planned to see my mother starting next weekend. I already cancelled on her once and hope to not have to postpone again. If I have to, I'll be taking the kittens on a road trip to New York State up near Canada. If I have to take them with me, at least they will get used to car rides ;-)

Please, If you are able to give them a home, take them to one of the local low cost spay and neuter clinics. It is sooooooo much cheaper to do while they are young, and prevents tons of strays from ending up with out homes.
Also, SMAWL sponsers a low cost Rabies Vaccination Clinic on the second monday of the month at the fair grounds in St. Mary's.
A friend of mine just called me this morning looking for a kitten. So here i am online. He doesn't do computers well. The picture is beautiful. he will probably take one or two. He is retired now so he has plenty of time for pets. I'm waiting for him to get back to me i just left him a message. Do you have any left? Let me know. Thanks!

There are currently four kittens available. The two that were adopted out came back with a clean bill of health. At present, I am in upstate NY visiting my mother. The mother cat and kittens are in the bathroom of my home in Lexington Park, MD. If anyone is interested in seeing the kittens, they can send me a private message and we can exchange contact info. My husband can show the kittens if anyone would like to see them. Thank you
