The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit charged a man in connection with the recent fatal shooting in Suitland. The suspect is 35-year-old James Stewart of Upper Marlboro. He’s charged with the murder of 32-year-old Myandre McBride of Suitland.
On June 3, 2025, at approximately 12:35 pm, officers responded to the 5600 block of Regency Park Court for the report of a shooting. Officers located McBride and a second male victim inside an apartment, both suffering gunshot wounds. McBride was pronounced dead on the scene. The second victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. He remains in critical but stable condition.
Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified Stewart as the suspect. The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect and victim were known to each other and were involved in an ongoing dispute.
Stewart is charged with first-degree murder and related charges. He’s in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
