Switching back to Metrocast

I'm going to check into DishTV. We have direct tv now and its so expensive. Of course that's probably because we have all the channels. My internet is w/Metrocast and like it. I understand DishTV has internet also.

Not really, dish and metrocast is the best option for the area

Well sure it would. I'm a huge fan of assimilation. If everyone liked what I like, and thought the way I thought, this could be a great country again.

When I lived over there Verizon sucked and the so called "Metrocrap" was actually good (California area)

I have Comcast here and it rocks.

My geek son can't believe the speed, and it's only cable, not FIOS or anything like that.

Metro offers a decent triple play bundle and you can bargain with the rates. People don't know this.

My cable doesn't go out in storms. I lost it for a few days during the hurricane last year, but I didn't have any power, either. Occasionally it blips and resets, but it's out for less than a minute.

People complain about Metrocast but I've never had any problems with them.

We rarely lose HD and haven't lost all channels in years (pre-HD days) quality is first rate. It's come a long way. First time I had it 10 years ago we'd lose signal in anything worse than a sprinkle.

We've lost power and turned on the generator, still had signal..

Whatever we have it must involve a dish because we take a dish and receiver camping. And you MUST have good reception while camping. None of that sleeping on the ground roughing it stuff for us.

Ive been with DirecTV before we could get Metrocast. Now I have Metrocast for Internet and DirecTV for TV. With multiple DVR's in the house the cost for DTV is much less than Metrocast. If you have only have 1 or 2 its comparable. I haven't looked into it in a while but Metrocast was getting like 13.95 for each DVR..

Since this tread resurrected itself.....

I finally got cable installed. The old cable from 20+ years ago was inadequate and damaged. Metrocast came and buried new line formt heir box, under the driveway and to he house.

Works great! Occasional freeze on HD channels but for the most part, clean, clear picture in all conditions. No drop off in the rain, snow, no running out to adjust the damn dish.

It costs a bit more than DTV with no hassles. Cable internet is fine. I expected a bit more speed loading pages and video over DSL but I am not noticing it. It is a little faster but not that much.

When I was there with Metrocast I would average 8-10 which was inline with what I was paying. Im now getting around 23 but that is the "burst speed" with Comcast. I would love to go back to Metrocast if that was possible. Comcast throttles video speeds and since we like to stream we notice it a lot. Never had the issue with Metrocast.
