I heard someone on TV this evening mention "the element of surprise", I don't think there will be any surprise. In Syria they've already started moving stuff. I saw yesterday where they had moved prisoners to the air fields to act as "human shields". They'll have plenty of time to get everything moved and hidden, so anything we do isn't going to matter anyway, not that it would have in the first place.

Kerry spoke today and amazing they know the type of gas used, Sarin, but absent from his speech was the knowledge of where the Sarin was manufactured, and if we know the type we do know where it was made. So why would they not divulge that piece of information.

He did, however, admit to Iraq having and using WMD prior to our involvement

Suppose that there were any coherent US International policy. I know, I know, that's ludicrous.

But does it make any sense to gut the Defense budget and continue riding in like the cavalry every time somebody has trouble in the world? Who died and left us in charge? Right, nobody.

Protecting our "own interests" shouldn't always entail making a military or diplomatic move. Sometimes protecting our own interests should entail using the natural resources we have to fuel our insatiable appetites.

Israel lives in a dangerous neighborhood, and so our presence in the area is rarely small. But sailing and flying in because the monkeys keep doing what monkeys do (and have always done), makes little sense to me.

On a slightly different tack, I find it interesting that controlling certain weapons doesn't work any better on an International scale than it does here at home. Outlawing Chemical Weapons did nothing to save the lives of those attacked by them.

Are we learning anything here? No? What a shocker.
