Before the President terminated Corney, the President considered it critically important that he was not under investigation and that the public not erroneously think he was being investigated. As described in Volume TI, Section TI.D, supra, advisors perceived the President, while he wasdrafting the Corney termination letter, to be concerned more than anything else about getting outthat he was not personally under investigation. When the President learned ofthe appointment of the Special Counsel on May 17, 2017, he expressed further concern about the investigation, saying "[t]hisistheendofmyPresidency." ThePresidentalsofaultedSessionsforrecusing,saying "youwere supposed to protect me."

The President also faulted Sessions for recusing, saying "you were supposed to protect me."

This is what happens when a person is hired for a job who is COMPLETELY unqualified.

Wow, the president has political clarity to know that if the public erroneously thought he, personally, was under investigation it would greatly diminish his political capital to get things done.

It's almost as if he is self-aware, and understands politics, and isn't the dunce @transporter thinks he is, or you, @TCROW. It's as if you two are completely wrong about his intelligence and competence, and proving your combined ignorance with most every post on this report. Interesting.
