Troopers? Do you know how many troopers are on the road at any one time in St. Mary's ? I'll tell you it is a handful or less, now the Sheriffs Dept. has somewhat more robust numbers so maybe you'd like to ask them.

Not when the MSP has over 1000 troopers thought out the state at different locations that they can pull from. But this will make the commander look as if he is not doing his job.

Its all a plot to bolster the Sheriff depts budget. They catch a couple guys for something, tell them they'll let 'em off the hook if they do a job which they won't get caught for. They can keep the money too! Next thing you know the citizens are calling for MORE LAW ENFORCEMENT!!!

But NAVAIR employees aren't the angels that beerlover is insinuating they are.

I don't think they are angels, but I'd rather have a community full of NAVAIR employees than the population of baby-daddies that are causing the problems in Lex Park. A DWI on the way home from the bar is a far cry from armed robbery. Still very wrong, but a whole different ballpark.

I can totally see why the people who were here before NAVAIR when it was nothing but skipjacks and cowpats liked it better.... Change is hard. But I'm just saying NAVAIR isn't the problem. I think the lower rents in this area than you find in the rest of the DC metro area is probably more to blame. The low rent areas tend to draw a higher percentage of low rent people. You all know what I'm talking about.

And 100% with ya', but I'm not sure it's low rents as much as new hunting grounds and more naive pickings. Plus people from up there hooking up with people from down here.

In a time gone by, trouble makers were dealt with rapidly and in a manner they did not wish to experience again, if they had the opportunity. Good 'ol boys or SMIBs as many like to call the indigenous folk had swift justice in the "good 'ol days." It has only been since outsiders insisted on being "civilized" that we have had problems. There used to never be a shortage of bait for the crab pots as I understand it.
