Talkin' Turkey...

You're making fun of me, aren't you?

Well, laugh all you want.

I had 42 people over for dinner today, and each person had a seat at a table, and a buffet table that was overflowing with tremendously delicious food.

Everyone walked away full, happy, and with a to-go box.

I am very happy, but very exhausted.

Sounds great. We went to a family members place in Tall Timbers. Was a great meal with good people. I ended up opening oysters for the ladies the best part of the afternoon as they were not really dressed for it. Got to introduce some folks from out of the area to some Southern MD food and also got to taste a few things I had never eaten so was good all around. When we finally sat down to eat they opened up the curtains to reveal a wonderful, unobstructed view of the Potomac that made me just appreciate the day all the more. Good stuff.

Railroad

Routinely Derailed
I discovered yesterday that it is possible to properly roast a turkey without adding any water to the roaster pan :blushing:

The bird came out great, and so did the stuffing, etc. I swear that turkey still weighs 13 lbs.

I also discovered that a whole stick of real butter in small chunks can be inserted between skin and breast and that it does a superior job of moistening the white meat.

And despite best efforts to the contrary, a 13-lb turkey is way too much food for two people! :lmao:

So it's time for all the leftovers recipes, I think.
