How do I find information on annual taxes for a particular house/neighborhood? I didn't see anything under "Real Property Search" and I don't know where else to look. TIA.

All houses in a county are taxed the same $X per $1000 of assesd value.
All you need is the county tax rate and the price.

Roundabout way, but enter the address of the house. You can find the current property tax.

I don't know the exact tax rate and I don't have a copy of our current taxes to see. St. Mary's/Lexington Park?

I saw that.. too confusing for me. Use the link I gave you. You can click on any house it shows and it will pop up a box that you can use to get detailed info about the house, including the 2008 property tax and school districts.

Most counties in Maryland have online systems, unfortunately (as of a year ago) St. Mary's does not, you can call the department of assessment and taxation. :shrug:

Welcome. I like that site because you can "bop around the neighborhood" and get info on various houses without knowing the specific address. The link Camily provided is great for detailed info on a house once you know where it is.

Although, I just looked at mine and found 2 errors......

Yeah, I use that site a lot. I was having a difficult time find the information I needed though. Zillow gave me some estimates that will work for what I need. Thanks again!

That site goes by the house when it was built. Our house is now a 4br 3ba but is listed as 3br 2ba.

Sure, bound to be discrepancies. It does show the current taxes correctly and last sale dates. The info in mine is all messed up. But if you were so inclined, you as the homeowner could update that info. Not sure that I would want to tho.

I was thinking the same thing. I'll just leave well enough alone.
