We normally do our taxes ourselves; nothing fancy, we both work, i go to school part-time, 2 kids, savings and 401ks. In Nov. 2011 we bought our first house. I'm thinking maybe for atleast this year, we should have someone else do it. Any recommendations?

its super duper easy to add your mortgage interest. The form from your lender tells you the amount and you just pop it in the appropriate box. easy. If you do them online, nearly all the programs ask you if you have bought a house this year, click yes and it is literally just one tiny extra step.

It's pretty straight forward and if you use TaxAct, TurboTax, etc., they walk you through everything.

I third Turbo Tax. Walks you through everything easy peasy & gives help if you're not sure on something. Cheap too. $67.00

I fourth Turbo-Tax, have used for years, easy peasy to do, they even let you know when something is wrong. Try it, you'll like it.

I believe that's what we've used in the past. I just don't want to screw it up and end up owing . Now I remember I also donated a huge amount of clothes to Vintage Value. Need to dig out my itemized list.

Fourth. I've been using TurboTax since I was 18 and have used it after buying a house, then turning it into a rental property 6 years later with no hiccups.
