She could just be grateful to be thought of. Not everybody can pool together and give their teacher a vacation. LOL
You're right. But what is the point of having 57 coffee mugs that you never use?

If someone less privileged wants to give the teacher a gift, just put the money that you'd have spent on a mug towards a gift certificate to Staples instead. That gift will certainly be used, and not placed on the next yardsale table. :ohwell:

I got my son's teacher a White House Christmas Ornament. For the two in high school I got a dozen Yankee votive candles and they are distributing them accordingly.

Thank you...

NO mugs came in this year,...
Chocolate,...coldstone ice cream certificate, ornaments, home made peanut butter/chocolate balls, and cards...thank you very much...
oh, none of you go to my school.
Well, consider this a thank you from your teachers: they deeply appreciate knowing that you support them and they are pushing your kids to do their best.

And the Christmas bonus: 100.00 certificate to Giant Food.

But wait, there's more...
DQ's teacher got scented bath tea and a candle. I thought about slipping a doobie in there for her, but decided against it. :ohwell:

Okay, I was greedy and smoked it myself.

Those teacher mugs are not real quick sellers on the yard sale table either...

i was grateful for the many starbucks cards and candles and such. most teachers really do appreciate anything we receive, including hand made cards drawn in pencil (yes, I still get those from my high schoolers) The staples gift cards are a great idea!

I do wish that I didn't get quite so many baked goods/bags of candy. I appreciate the thought but I'm on a diet :)
