Cleats or no cleats? Coach says that it's not a requirement. This is our first year in so I have no clue. Thanks. I'm super excited. Almost as much as my boy is. :yahoo:

What age are tee ball kids? My kids haven't gotten there yet. I think that I remember just playing in sneakers for tee ball as a kid, but I'm not sure. I think that I didn't do cleats until pitched games.

Mine is 4 years old. Mommy told him that he would be getting baseball shoes with spikes on them a few weeks ago before I was told that he didn't need them.

oh the wonderful years of teeball, my first year was last year. i dont remember any kids on my sons team with cleats. My son didn't have them either. I dont know the whole purpose of cleats but if has to do with performance than they dont need them. Tee ball is playing in the dirt and chasing random rabbits that cross the field. Just remember your camera because there are so many funny moments. hope your kiddie likes it.

It makes the kids feel more like a REAL ball player. Went through it 3 times.Get cheap ones because they wont be able to wear them more than a year.

Depends on the league. Parks and Rec's schedule is different. We're doing S.M.A.L.L. and the practices were supposed to start tonight. So, we'll start practice next week and opening day is on April 18th.

That's was exactly my thought. They said that we didn't need baseball pants either but we'll be buying those this weekend. He's dying to look like the Cal Fathead that's on his wall.

Anyone know of any batting cages around here that may have tees? I miss Swing-N-Swat. The county needs another one. :frown:

I would say no. Our coach the first year insisted the kids needed them and they really didnt. Second year they said no not at all. Different leagues. this year, another child but he has them becasue they are hand-me downs from siblings in excellent condition.

No cleats required, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to have them start getting used to wearing them. They'll outgrow them just about every year.

He's so excited about dressing up like a baseball player that'll it will be worth buying a cheap pair.

I always bought them for my kids... just because they would ruin their regular shoes..

What size do you need? I might have a pair laying around here from one of mine.

This is coming from a coac in his 11th year. At time the grass on the field will be damp and cleats evean at that age the cleats will make a big difference. Buy the cheap ones from Walmart. They will out grow them fast!!
