Discipline starts at home and I for one think that if his mother had done her job, her son would not have fallen in with the wrong crowd. If his mother had taught him the difference between what is right and what is wrong, he would be able to recognize the wrong crown and avoid them.Beating a child, just because it shows power over them is wrong, but a good switch to the backside of a child who is misbehaving is appropriate as long as the child knows the reason for the switch.
My parents did just that to myself and my brothers and sisters without fear of child abuse charges and none of us have seen the inside of a jail cell.
Back then, it was a sign of "Tough Love" and the principal of all the schools we went to all had permission from our parents to discipline us if necessary.Redskinsmama

at 6 years old i knew the difference in right and wrong. I'm so sick of teenagers saying they "didn't realize what they did til it was too late" their lawyers feed them a bunch of crap to gain sympathy and they get a lesser charge. If you want to act like an adult be treated like one. If a teenager murders someone, i feel they should be sent to live with the big dogs. screw the juvenile detention center. A detention center should hold the children with increasing problems to make sure they don't end up in prison from murdering someone. Makes me sick. I don't care what anyone says, when i have a child and she/he acts up, you're gonna get your ass smacked. After i do it, i will hand the phone over to my child and dare them to call child protective services on me. I would give my left arm to have been born in the 1900's and not have to witness rapid decline in our society. sorry, just had to get that off my chest
