I have a very good friend who has two kids by his ex. At one time they were both heroin addicts, but he tried to get clean, she did not. He left and tried to legally get custody of his kids. That didn't work, then one day as he was walkign to her house to pick up the kids, he sees his own son( who mind you was almost six before getting potty trained) being tossed out the front door, bruised and bleeding. He calls the cops and calls me. As I am driving 90 miles an hour to Reading, PA, he is finding out his 9 month old has a fractured skull and possible brain damage. After the state took the kids, they give them back to his ex(!?!?) because he has a criminal record. Things got even worse after that. I made another trip to PA, this time to kidnap both kids and hide em out until we could get them some help... Needless to say, he has his son and his daughter went to foster care adn was alomst adopted until, ( get this) the state gives her back to the ex, and now she has three more kids. As far as I know she is clean now, But THEY GAVE HER BACK THE KID< TWICE!!! My friend has devoted his whole life to undoing the damage done to his son in those early years. But how can any of them really recover, and hwat about his little girl.. terrible ####.

You know what I like about people????

NOTHING.

My two cents....

The 17 year old and her parents because I find it hard to believe that they didn't know about the abuse need to be taken off to jail and every hour on the hour for 30 minutes the guards need to shove socks in their mouths. And if they pass out and die....oh well. One less prisoner we tax payers have to take care off.

There is a huge shortage of qualified foster care homes. The screening process only enables social service workers to place those children who are severely in need. No longer does just living in filth qualify a child to be placed elsewhere. Now babies, on the other hand, do have a better chance of finding placement. A good friend of mine now is has legal custody, officially adopted a baby this way. The baby was taken by social services at the hospital for having crack cocaine in her system at birth. The horrible, long, crying nights this baby had from cocaine withdrawal were enough to bring any grown person to their knees. It last for 5 long months.
