Teething Tablets?

Did your child ever use teething tablets? Do they work? What kind did you use?

My mother told me that she used chamomile teething tablets and they naturally numbed the baby's gums, and made the teething process a lot easier. I hate to see him in so much pain.

Baby boy has his first tooth poking through, and last night I was up with him all night because of it. Help, I need some sleep!

I bought them but never used them. Neither of my kids cried much while teething. I tried using Ambisol but could never get it on the part of the gum I was trying to numb. I used frozen teething rings mostly.

I use the rings too, But he is a very busy little guy and won't sit still for long enough to sooth himself with the rings. he chews for about 30 seconds throws it down and continues playing. I need something for little ones constantly on the go. I didn't know you could put ambisol on baby's gums, do they have baby ambisol? Is that a dumb question?

Yes they make Baby Ambisol. Check the baby aisle in any store.

LIFE SAVING DEVICE!!!!

I still use them now that Rowan's molars are coming in... I used the Hyland ones, I think... they're these little tiny white tablets that dissolve super fast.

Aww i'm sorry to hear that. I'm pregnant with my first and i was just reading about teething in the pregnancy magazine. It said a cool wash cloth or a cool teething ring will help ease the pain. It also said to rub his gums with your finger to help. Good luck and please let us future mothers know what works!!

I worked in a health food store for a while and if we were out of them and someone needed them they would panic or be mad and say the pellets work great.

Heck with the teething ring, just get some whiskey and rub their gums with that. Before I get slammed, I didn't use a lot, just stuck my finger in the bottle, shook the excess off and rubbed their gums. Thats what my moms, mom used, my mom and I used it on my kids. Works get!!

I went out and bought baby orajel today, seemed to be working pretty good until it was lunchtime. Let's just say lunch was a messy one today, but I'd rather it be messy than him in pain.

So as of right now.. i have tried baby orajel, teething tablets, baby tylenol, hes dry, his belly is full. i even tried letting him chew on a frozen water bottle, that helped for a little bit. but hes been awake for about 2 and a half hours upset. i have rocked him and cuddled him. is it time to let him self soothe? i cant give him anymore medicine. any idea's? he's in his crib right now fussing on and off. slowly falling asleep i guess. but still sounds like he's in pain.

Teething tablets contain belladonna. Belladonna can be poisonous if used in large amounts, so be careful with that (some pediatricians advise against them altogether).

I wouldn't let an ill or teething baby cry it out.

I used to give my kids frozen waffles/pancakes to chew on. Orajel worked too, but have to keep loading up on it.

Good luck.
