Teething

What time did your babies start teething? My son is almost 4 months and he started 2 weeks ago. This seemed early but the doctor said that it wasn't.

Tigger should know a lot about teething.

disclaimer for all the tigger defenders of the world: this was not a crack about her wonderful toothless smile...but rather a crack about her adorable early teether.

My son will be 10 weeks tomorrow and he is already a drool factory. My oldest got his first around 5 months. I think this one's going to be an early teether too.

My daughter was a late bloomer when it came to teething but once she started it seemed that her teeth started coming through one right after the other. On the plus side, she was not fussy at all. My son is only 3 weeks so time will tell with him. I only hope he follows in his sisters steps and isn't fussy. Who knows sockgirl...your son maybe one of the ones that don't fuss alot. I have my fingers crossed for you!

4-9 months is considered "normal" for a first tooth. Some kids are born with them, some don't get them until they are over a year old. Most kids start showing signs about a month before the tooth actually shows up. Some kids never fuss or drool, the teeth just start popping in.

It's all good :yay:

Don't bust me for this (to much), but I found that the rawhide chew toys for dogs work great for teething kids. My son kep trying to chew up all my leather belts, so I got him one of the bone looking ones with knots in each end. He chewed it so much, the knots came untied.

My daughter started teething when she was about 3 1/2 months old but the tooth actually did not break through till she was about 4 1/2 months old. She did get several ear infections along with the teething. My son didn't get his first tooth till he was 6 months old. He never experienced any ear infections with any of his teething.

I have heard of people doing this, also.

My son started drooling and trying to bite anything that came within reach when he was 3 months old. He is 6 months old now and still hasn't cut a tooth.

Why do mothers have a problem with this? The little buggers are constantly picking up anything they can get their hands on and putting it in their mouth. I'll always remember the look on my sons face the first time he picked up a bug and stuck it in his mouth. :yikes:
