Prince Frederick, MD - The Carson Scholars Fund announced the awarding of 579 new scholars and 931 recognized scholars this year, making up the largest cohort of Carson Scholars to date. Each year the Carson Scholars Fund honors an elite group of students from grades 4-11 who not only demonstrate exceptional academic achievements, maintaining at least a 3.75 GPA, but also embody significant humanitarian qualities.
This year, two students from Calvert County Public Schools received the prestigious honor of being named Carson Scholars: Tamilore Adeshiyan (Beach Elementary) and Rocco Barone (Patuxent Appeal Elementary). These scholars are awarded a $1,000 college scholarship, an Olympic-sized medal, and a certificate. In addition, eight students from Calvert County Public Schools renewed their status as Carson Scholars: Brayden Amato (Northern High), Morgan Castro Arndt (Patuxent High), Shaun Council (Calvert High), James Johnson (Northern High), Isabella McAllister (Plum Point Middle), Denali Mohler (Calvert High), Brandon Mudd (Windy Hill Middle), and Donovan Stone (Huntingtown High). These scholars were previously awarded and have continued to uphold the rigorous standards of being named Carson Scholars.
Carson Scholars stand out as agents of change, actively contributing to society through altruistic engagement and academics. These impressive students are today’s leaders and are on paths to becoming our country’s future leaders, making meaningful impacts within their communities and beyond.
