I learned that helmets are only good for 3 years, worn or not. The instructor told us that in window licker bike class. Whether you wear them or not, the stuff on the inside desenegrates and makes them un-safe.

I find that hard to believe..

So 3 years from the date of manufacture, the helmet is no good, and you need to buy another one?? SOunds like a scam from companies that sell helmets...

Besides, those beany helmets are worthless new, they'd be just as worthless 10 or 20 years old..
