Teresa Heinz Kerry says teaching is not a real job

To be fair to THK, this President business is her husband's gig. She was very upfront in the beginning that she wasn't interested. So she probably didn't do her homework on the opponents and their wives the way other First Lady candidates would have.

I get the impression of her that she's a woman with a full life and all she really wants, now she's just looking for a job for her playboy hubby to keep him off the streets. Not that she cares because he'd better behave or he's REALLY out on the street.

So, vrai, you're telling me, and others, that THK has no grasp of what being a 1st Lady entails? That you have to be sure of what you're saying before you make a total ass out of yourself on national TV?

Like me, I think when people sit back and remember what she said, how she said it, with no apparent knowlegde of the 1st Lady at all, then she was probably seen by many American women as a dillhole of the 1st degree.

I did not see the interview, or whatever they termed it, however I have seen her on other occasions, and she's a crude/rude woman, with not much sense of decorum. JMHO

Campaigning for her husband in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Heinz Kerry said she forgot Mrs. Bush had a career.

"I had forgotten that Mrs. Bush had worked as a school teacher and librarian, and there couldn't be a more important job than teaching our children, I appreciate and honor Mrs. Bush's service to the country as First Lady, and am sincerely sorry I had not remembered her important work in the past," she said in a statement.

Can you say, "damage control"?

If you've seen her on TV, at the photo ops before and during the debates, she definitely comes off as a very strong, proud personality.

For her to backpedal that severely indicates someone jumped all over her
$h!t, and told her to correct the misstatement post haste!

I'll wager she enjoyed the hell out of having to issue that statement!

I think she has an idea of what it entails, she just doesn't care. She's wealthy and powerful in her own right - this isn't Hillary Clinton we're talking about here. Of course, it's through her dead husband but what the hell - she did her time.

This is all pure speculation on my part but I like and respect her a lot more than I do him. While he was trying to play "commoner" at the Wendy's, she was like, "What IS this crap???" I respect and admire that kind of honesty, although I won't hesitate to bust on her when it serves my purpose.

That's the extent of her "real" jobs. Not a very impressive resume.
