Terrible Two

Thank god...I was beginning to worry

Mine is still doing it to a certain extent. He has a little temper and is stubborn. He has also learned some antics from his older brother, so he started that crap earlier. He is almost 3 1/2 now, and he has significantly improved in that department.

I know it's frustrating and upsetting and of course can be very embarrassing, but hang in there. It will pass. As far as what to do when he does it, you'll have to figure out what works with him. Every kid is different.

My kiddo is still not potty trained, but I know he is like his brother and is going to do it when he wants to do it

I honestly try to ignore it and walk out of the room so he doesn't get the attention. My husband however is all:jameo::jameo:

Mine was fine at 2. 3 was the killer. He came off the pacifier 2 weeks after he turned 3. I would have done it at 2 but there was a lot of turmoil then so we waited until 3. I warned him on the weeks leading up to Christmas that Santa was coming to collect his pacifiers to take and give them to babies who need them. It worked splendidly. But he was only taking it at bedtime and naptime then too.

I started potty training at 3.5 to save myself a lot frustration. He wasn't interested before and it became a bad cycle of both of us getting irritated. It became nice outside so I bribed him with the novelty of peeing outside. He loved it. I also used a potty sticker chart. And it just clicked for him. Potty trained in a week.

This gives me hope :yahoo: because he only gets it at bedtime/naptime. But he asks for it by name. Same with a bottle. It's now a routine and he knows that's when it's time to sleep. He's getting too big for the crib, birthday is in May so we're planning on converting to the toddler race car bed then.

Have hope! Just do your best to not make it a stressful event. He found one I had forgotten a few weeks later and came out with it in his mouth and handed it to me and told me to give it to Santa next year.

And the tantrums are short, but man does he get PISS'D... throws things, takes a slap at mommy ! Is that normal?

It is normal but it is not acceptable and two is old enough to learn that it's NOT okay to hit or throw things, especially at mommy! Nip it in the bud or you'll have real problems later on down the road. And good luck!
