I hauled home a derelict trailer tonight on my 4x8 utility trailer. The "new" trailer is also a 4x8, and thus it did not "fit" on my trailer. I winched it up onto the good trailer, with each flat tire hanging over the side of my trailer. In doing so, I drug the tires over the busted up taillights on my trailer. In the process, I managed to short out both the taillight/instrument light and turn signal fuses. I did not have replacement fuses in the correct size.
However, depending on the equipment in your Focus, you have extra circuits that are not in use. To save time, Ford installs all the fuses, regardless of whether or not that circuit will be used. So, I pulled the 15 amp fuse for the heated seats that I don't have, and used it to replace the 15 amp turn signal fuse. If you have an automatic transmission, one circuit is used for the backup lights. If you have a manual, a different circuit is used for them. I since I have a manual, I pulled the 10 amp fuse for the automatic lights, and used it to replace the 10 amp fuse for the instrument lights.
Now to go to the store and buy a bunch of spares to keep in the glovebox.
