I won't eat disgusting stinky lamb, but pork or chicken gyros - I'm there for it :yum:

Niko's did pork gyros with all the fixins and it was out of this world hella fab.
I HATE lamb. I had it at Easter once and it was the nastiest looking AND smelling main dish of a meal I've ever had. :barf:

Growing up, we had it once a month for Sunday dinner, we(family) liked it and I never really heard of people disliking it until the last 5,10 years.

maybe it was the way they prepared it. This piece of lamb was grey. NO browning of it, did not look roasted at all. It was :dead:

Just sneakin' around....
HT has butterballs for $.99/lb.

Off topic, but they also had a great deal on t-bone for almost 50% off, $9.99/lb. Got a couple of packages.

It doesn't have the funky lamb taste.
I get it. Lamb CAN be prepared that makes it seriously delicious - just like most fish - and game like deer. If it’s cooked like a steak it’s gonna taste weird.

Some meats - they must be an acquired taste I guess. Nothing can make me enjoy calf’s liver. And I have TRIED.

My dad grew up in a time where spinach came from A CAN. Canned spinach is the devil’s work. It’s vile. Having only ever eaten steamed or boiled, I couldn’t “get” Popeye cartoons.

Until I had fresh salmon, I had only ever eaten canned salmon. Blech. Until I moved to Maryland, the only crab I’d ever had were disgusting frozen crab cakes. The kind that have very little crab and are mushy.

I realize people have different tastes. I love fried oysters but I merely tolerate stuffed ham. To me it’s just - ham. With greens.

If you won't eat disgusting stinky lamb, then you've never had it cooked properly Blondie. Properly cooked lamb is heavenly!

I had rack of lamb in a French restaurant on St Augustine beach. That was probably over 25 years ago. To this day, that is the best meal I've ever had in my life. I seldom eat lamb or lamb chops anymore, but when I've fixed them, I've merely marinated them in Teriyaki and broiled them, medium rare. They've always turned out tender and really delicious.

I had a similar experience with trying hake at a restaurant in Rockville in the eighties. Hake normally is your standard white fish, but they did a magnificent job with an otherwise tasteless fish.

Is there a soup kitchen around Lexington Park that feeds the druggies a meal on Thanksgiving?

One of the things I love about SM stuffed ham is they all have different tastes; you never know what you're gonna get until you try it!

Several. They also feed homeless people, those in need of a hand up, families that may not be well off, etc. I know several people that volunteer their services to those kitchen; some are even on this forum. Good people, all of them, providing a service that feeds more than just druggies. They're always looking for volunteers - got some extra time on your hands?
