Thanksgiving. Ready and waiting.....

BadGirl

I am so very blessed
Is it crazy that I already have my Thanksgiving dinner already planned out, down to the last detail.

Menu. Check.
Shopping list. Check.
Meal preperation timeline. Check.
Item placement on the table. Check.
Appropriate serving vessels and proper utencils selected. Check.
Linens chosen. Check.

I love doing this stuff. :yay:

But did you already start the shopping for items on said lists?

I hope you arent one of those people who shop the day before Thanksgiving??? I want to kill those people. The holiday is the same day every freakin year it doesnt change!!!

I never hosted Thanksgiving - Christmas was mine - but there's no family left to celebrate with and the kids are almost always with their dad for Thanksgiving so its just a quiet day at home now. And Christmas is very low key.

Hey you, we should begin plucking turnips from the earth on or about Wednesday... PM me your cell if you want to "hooked up" this year. Last year was kind of a bust but this year's rain had given us an abundant crop.

Enough for you to have turnips now AND again for Thanksgiving.

:blushing: Actually, I HAVE already started my shopping. I'll finish up with my last Thanksgiving shopping trip the weekend before The Big Day. :blushing:

What is funny, is that in my shopping list, I put all my needed items in an Excel spreadsheet, with a column devoted to where in the store I can find it (i.e. fresh vegetables, dairy, baking items, deli, etc.). I also keep track of my ordinary pantry items, and those things that I already have in stock, or what might need to be replaced, etc.

Does your mom also alphabetize her spices, and turn all the labels in the pantry so that they all face the same way? Does she also have different shelves in the pantry dedicated to the sections of the grocery store (i.e. condiments, baking supplies, rice/pasta, soups/soup making stuff, snacks, etc.)

If so, then yeah, I'm your mom.

I don't want to cook this year.
If you still want to eat, please feel free to come on down and join us. Or I'll bundle up a goodie bag and bring it to you. You know me.....I"ll have enough food for 30, and only have 8-10 for dinner.
